Six servicemen injured in a road accident involving a military truck have been discharged from the Main Military Clinical Medical Centre.
Another injured serviceman is expected to be discharged by the end of the week. The remaining patients will continue receiving treatment in hospital, the Defence Ministry said.
A Defence Ministry commission is continuing its internal inquiry, while investigators are examining all the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The ministry said all those injured would receive insurance payments once law enforcement authorities make the relevant procedural decision.
On 24 July, a MAZ truck transporting servicemen overturned on the Asipovichy–Baranavichy road. A contract sergeant and a conscript were killed, while 14 people were hospitalised with injuries. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 464 of the Criminal Code (“Violation of the rules for operating a military vehicle resulting in the death of two people by negligence”).
