Criminal Case Opened Over Scaffold Collapse in Minsk

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code (violation of construction safety regulations resulting in death by negligence) following the collapse of scaffolding in Minsk on 29 July.

The collapse occurred during finishing works at a nine-storey residential building under construction on Kiseleva Street. Construction workers were on scaffolding at several levels when the incident happened.

A 37-year-old steel fixer was killed. Six other workers were hospitalised with injuries of varying severity.

An investigative task force is working at the scene. Investigators are examining the site, documenting evidence, interviewing witnesses and seizing technical documentation.
