Belarusian human rights organizations have issued a statement recognizing 11 more people as political prisoners.

“It has become known that Pavel Stanislauchyk, Vadzim Dauhuchyts, Marat Bushenka, Dzmitry Levy, Aliaksandr Karnatski, Daria Kalinava, Radzivon Kurtsarau, Pavel Charniak, Aliaksandr Vanchenka, Aliaksandr Kavalenka and Aliaksandr Katlianik have been placed in custody and sentenced to penalties involving deprivation of liberty in connection with alleged interaction with ‘extremist formations’ and the exercise of freedom of expression”, the statement said.

The human rights defenders concluded that the individuals are being persecuted for political reasons. They called for their release, as well as the release of all political prisoners, and for an end to political repression.
