Former political prisoner Andrzej Poczobut addressed Belarusian Poles via video link. He posted on X a video from a meeting organized by Anzhalika Barys, where he joined remotely.
“Our people in Minsk. Today I managed to see them and speak to them. They are waiting for me. We have gone through a lot together, and there is still much ahead of us. Being Polish in these latitudes has never been easy. Apart from the Union of Poles, the Polish minority has no one to defend its interests,” he said, commenting on the video.
It was reported earlier that Andrzej Poczobut, one of the leaders of the Polish minority in Belarus, was released last week as part of an exchange. He is currently in Poland, but does not rule out returning to Belarus. According to him, during the exchange he received assurances from Belarusian officials that he would be able to return.
