Operations of a Large Clothing Store in Brest Suspended Over Violations

The State Control Committee of the Brest Region has suspended the operations of a store selling men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and footwear.

As reported by the agency’s press service, a number of violations were identified during an inspection. A significant portion of the goods lacked documents confirming their quality and safety, as well as mandatory labelling. Some jackets bore identification marks containing inaccurate information.

The store owner failed to ensure traceability of the products sold, and for more than 300 items subject to state price regulation there were no economic calculations to justify retail mark-ups.

The operation of the retail outlet has been suspended. The owner is taking measures to eliminate the violations.
