New Zealand Urges Belarusian Regime to Respect Human Rights

New Zealand has called on the Belarusian authorities to respect human rights, Foreign Minister Winston Peters said following his meeting with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

“The minister met with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and discussed New Zealand’s support for a free and democratic Belarus. New Zealand continues to urge the Belarusian regime to ensure the protection of fundamental human rights for all Belarusians,” the statement posted on X said.

As a reminder, Tsikhanouskaya is visiting New Zealand and Australia from November 3 to 8.

Tsikhanouskaya’s office has not yet commented on the outcome of her meeting with Peters.
