Kanstantsin Bychak, former head of the KGB Investigative Directorate and appointed today as chairman of the Investigative Committee, has been promoted in rank. By a decree signed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka on December 23, he was awarded the rank of major general, the Investigative Committee press service reported.
State Secretary of the Security Council Alyaksandr Valfovich presented Bychak with his shoulder boards and introduced him to the staff of the Investigative Committee.
“Kanstantsin Fyodaravich’s professional career has been closely connected with investigative work; he knows all its nuances from the inside. I am confident that he will approach service in the Investigative Committee with the necessary level of responsibility and understanding,” Valfovich said.
