A total of 4,473 Belarusian citizens reside permanently in Georgia, according to data from the population census conducted at the end of 2024. The results were published today by Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
According to the census, Georgia’s population stands at 3,929,581 people. Of these, 96.1% are Georgian citizens. Foreign nationals account for 3.4% of the total population, or approximately 134,000 people.
Among foreign citizens permanently residing in Georgia, Russian nationals rank first with 37,700 people. Since 2014, their number has increased nearly fivefold. Indian citizens rank second with 23,900 residents, while Ukrainian citizens are third with 11,500.
Belarusian citizens rank seventh. According to the 2024 census, 4,473 Belarusian citizens were permanent residents of Georgia. In 2014, only 101 Belarusians lived in the country.
As a result, the number of Belarusian citizens residing in Georgia has increased 44-fold over the past decade.
