Muraveika Retired from Military Service on Age Grounds

Former Chief of the General Staff Pavel Muraveika has been retired from military service on age grounds, with the right to wear military uniform and insignia. This is stated in Decree No. 327 of September 28 on his appointment as deputy head of Lukashenka’s Administration, published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The decree cites subparagraph 210.1 of paragraph 210 of the Regulations on Military Service. This provision allows military personnel to be discharged upon reaching the maximum age for military service. Pavel Muraveika holds the rank of major general, for which the maximum age is 55.

Pavel Muraveika turned 55 on September 26, 2026.

The decree also grants Muraveika the highest, second-class rank of state civil servant.
