In Minsk, drug control officers, together with traffic police and dog handlers, detained a 43-year-old local resident who had brought a large shipment of drugs into Belarus.
According to the Interior Ministry reported, amphetamine and cocaine weighing more than 1.5 kg in total were found in a rented premises that the man used as an office for his legitimate work. He had already packaged some of the drugs into small doses for subsequent sale but had not yet had time to place them in caches.
According to the Interior Ministry, the detainee also used drugs himself.
Investigators have opened a criminal case. The courier faces up to 15 years in prison.
