Lukashenka Promises to Check How Private Firms Coordinate Appointments With Local Authorities

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has promised to check in the near future how his decree on coordinating the appointment of managers of private organizations with local authorities is being implemented. The Presidential Administration will carry out the inspection.

At a meeting on unjustified intermediation, Lukashenka recalled the requirement to coordinate appointments in private organizations while discussing a draft decree on centralizing the procurement of certain goods for rural areas. He stressed that the decree must apply to everyone.

“The system must be the same for everyone. We have private and state forms of ownership. But these are our state enterprises that must work in the interests of the state. And there is no need to tell fairy tales here that a private owner will decide everything on their own and so on.

We even forced private owners to coordinate personnel appointments with local authorities. Perhaps you are not doing this, but in the near future the Presidential Administration will check it and report to me whether this is the case or not. You perfectly understand why private owners coordinate their managers with local authorities — district executive committees, city executive committees, regional executive committees. So that they are state-minded,” Lukashenka said.

The decree strengthening the role of executive committees was adopted in February 2025. It granted chairpersons of district and city executive committees the right to coordinate the appointment of managers of private organizations located in their territories.
