Aliaksandr Lukashenka met with Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek. He proposed developing trade and invited him to visit Minsk.
“We have a lot to discuss. And I think we need to start working more intensively between the two countries. As for Laos, we have something to offer your country, especially at this stage of its development”, Lukashenka said, according to his press service.
He proposed supplying machinery products and establishing joint production facilities. As usual, Lukashenka promised to feed Laos.
“I know that your country needs certain food products — we are also ready to contribute in this area. Along with transferring our technologies, we are ready to train your specialists in our technological processes. In short, there are no closed topics in our cooperation, from agriculture and food products to the military-industrial complex. We are ready to work with you in this area”, he said.
“We will be glad to see you in Belarus at a time convenient for you”, he added.
Sisoulith, in turn, offered Lukashenka gold.
“We can work together in the field of mineral extraction, including gold. We could jointly build a gold processing plant. We already have such a facility, but we could build another one. We would very much like to cooperate with you in this area”, he said.
