Aliaksandr Lukashenka once again decided to ignore ceremonial events in Minsk marking the Day of the State Flag, Emblem and Anthem. As a year earlier, his address at State Flag Square was read out by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn.
On May 9, Lukashenka attended the parade on Red Square with his son Mikalai, and afterwards visited the Victory Monument in Minsk.
