Lithuanian Border Guards Bring Down Cigarette Drone From Belarus

Lithuanian border guards brought down another smuggling drone on Sunday. It was the 22nd such incident since the beginning of the year.

While on patrol, border guards spotted a small object flying from the direction of the border. A counter-drone system was deployed. Shortly afterwards, the unmanned aircraft disappeared from view. The downed drone was found in a field near the settlement of Dimitrai.

The drone was carrying 200 packs of Belarusian NZ Gold cigarettes. The value of the shipment is estimated at 1,100 euros.

Last year, 59 drones were intercepted, while in 2024 authorities intercepted 54 cigarette-carrying drones.
