Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the United States was moving away from the role of an objective mediator in the Russia-Ukraine war. In his view, this is demonstrated by new sanctions imposed on Moscow.
“As for the United States, as far as one can judge, it appears to be abandoning its claims to the role of an objective mediator and is following the same course of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. In addition to extending all of Biden’s sanctions, a substantial package of sanctions against Russia has already been adopted by President Trump’s administration”, he said at an embassy roundtable dedicated to Ukraine, TASS reported.
The minister also said that all of Russia’s objectives in the war against Ukraine would be achieved, including Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status.
