Belarus’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has approved regulations governing the provision of bicycles and electric bicycles to employees of territorial social service centres. The rules were established by Resolution No. 50 of June 8. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal and enters into force upon publication.

Bicycles or electric bicycles will be provided to social workers, care assistants delivering in-home social services, and social work specialists responsible for identifying citizens in need of social support.

Workers may receive bicycles in two cases:

  • when there is no regular public transport service within a settlement or between settlements where citizens requiring social support reside;
  • when public transport schedules do not align with the provision of social services according to timetables established based on citizens’ needs.

For social workers providing in-home services, the standard allocation is one bicycle per employee if the daily route is less than five kilometres. If the route exceeds five kilometres, the employee is entitled to one electric bicycle.

For social work specialists, the standard allocation is one bicycle for every five employees.
