Hrodna Security Chief Made 120,000 Rubles From “Ghost Employees”

The head of the security department at a branch of a grocery store chain in Hrodna was found guilty of embezzling a particularly large amount of money. The ruling was issued by the Kastrychnitski District Court of the regional center.

According to the case materials, over a period of five years, the man fictitiously employed workers who did not actually perform their duties. He embezzled more than 120,000 rubles in wages. At the same time, this period was counted toward the workers’ employment records, while the branch paid all the required contributions on their behalf.

The prosecutor’s office issued an order, as a result of which the company was able to recover 52,000 rubles in contributions to the Social Protection Fund. A set-off of the respective amounts was made in his interests.
