Former Director of Belarusians and Market Newspaper Released from Prison

The former director of the Belarusians and Market newspaper Konstantin Zolotykh has been released from prison, according to Nasha Niva. The political prisoner has fully served his sentence.

Konstantin Zolotykh was detained in May 2022. He was charged under four articles:

  • “Inciting social enmity and discord” (Part 2 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code);
  • “Insulting the President of the Republic of Belarus” (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code);
  • “Insulting a government official” (Article 369 of the Criminal Code);
  • “Abuse of official powers” (Part 2 of Article 426 of the Criminal Code).

In April 2023, he was sentenced to four years in prison.
