Forecasters Issue Orange Alert Over Heatwave

Forecasters have issued an orange-level weather warning as hot conditions are expected across Belarus in the coming days.

“During the daytime on June 26-27 (Friday-Saturday), maximum air temperatures in the western parts of the country will reach +30°C to +33°C,” the warning said.

A yellow-level warning has been issued for Thursday, June 25. Air temperatures in the south-west of the country are expected to reach +30°C.

A heatwave has swept across Europe in recent days. In Western European countries, air temperatures have already reached +40°C. By the end of the week, the extreme heat is expected to move eastward. In south-western Poland, temperatures could exceed +40°C on Sunday, while central parts of the country may see temperatures reach +38°C.
