Female Inmate of Homiel Prison Colony Falls Into Coma After Suicide Attempt, Rights Group Says

A female inmate at the IK-4 women’s prison colony in Homiel attempted suicide and subsequently fell into a coma, according to the human rights initiative Dissidentby.

“We learned that one of the inmates of the women’s prison colony tried to take her own life. According to our information, she fell into a coma. We do not yet know what happened afterward,” the rights group reported.

The woman is known not to have been convicted on politically motivated charges.
