“Clone” of Moldovan Journalist Used Fake Documents to Gain the Trust of Belarusians in Poland

Unknown individuals posed as Moldovan journalist Vladimir Thorik and attempted to gain the trust of Belarusians in Poland through the office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The journalist and editor of the Russian-language department of RISE Moldova reported this on Facebook.

According to Thorik, the individuals forged a press card in his name.

“I was cloned. Unknown individuals forged my identity as a journalist. My photo and surname were used on a fake press card. The provocateurs posed as me. Through the office of Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, they sought to gain the trust of Belarusian emigrants in Poland. Posing as a journalist, they wanted to get opponents of the Lukashenka regime talking,” the journalist wrote.

Thorik said he would provide further details tomorrow.
