An explosion occurred at a railway station in Augsburg, Germany. Police said an unknown object exploded in an underpass.
Traffic around the station was closed. At the station itself, police restricted access to the station building and the first platform. The station was later completely closed, and train services were suspended.
Augsburg is a regional transport hub located about 55 kilometers northwest of Munich.
According to Bild, a hand grenade exploded in an underground passage of a Turkish jewelry store. A 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were injured. The incident is preliminarily being linked to organized crime.
Police have not officially named the cause of the explosion or reported any injuries.

Bavarian police published an official statement on the consequences of the explosion. They confirmed that two young people were injured.
The victims suffered minor injuries as well as acoustic trauma. Both are Ukrainian citizens. The explosion occurred today at around 3:15 a.m.
“Further details of the circumstances of the explosion are the subject of an ongoing investigation. The area around the scene has been cordoned off.”
“Due to the discovery of a suspicious object at Augsburg Central Station, the station is currently closed. Train services have been temporarily suspended,” the statement said.
