Emergency workers over the past 24 hours have dealt with the последствия of strong winds in Belarus. An orange weather alert remains in effect in the country today and yesterday. Wind speeds may reach 20 metres per second.
According to the Emergencies Ministry, fallen trees were cleared from roads in the Vitsyebsk, Brest, Minsk and Hrodna regions.
In Hrodna, a gust of wind tore a metal sheet from the parapet of a shopping centre on Haspadarchaya Street. Emergencies Ministry workers who arrived at the scene dismantled the structure.
In Brest, workers were required to remove a billboard and roofing elements.
