The Belarusian government has established the procedure for applying tariff exemptions to vegetable imports. The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn.

Imports from third countries intended for retail sale will be exempt from import customs duties for:

  • 600 tonnes of cauliflower and broccoli,
  • 200 tonnes of eggplants,
  • 5,200 tonnes of sweet peppers.

The exemption applies upon presentation of a certificate confirming the intended use of the imported goods, issued by an authorised body, the government’s press service reported.

The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) will be responsible for issuing certificates confirming the intended use of the vegetables.
