Drones Strike Facilities in Leningrad Region and Cheboksary

Russia’s Defense Ministry said 289 drones were neutralized overnight.

Drones were intercepted over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Kaluga, Smolensk, Oryol, Tver, Tula, Ryazan, Pskov, Novgorod, Leningrad, Rostov, Volgograd and Moscow regions, as well as in Tatarstan, Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.

According to Leningrad Region Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko, the raid caused a fire in an industrial zone in Kirishi. He said the primary target of the attack was the Kirishinefteorgsintez refinery. The fire has been localized, and firefighting efforts are nearing completion.

Russia’s Defense Ministry report does not mention the Chuvash Republic, but regional head Oleg Nikolaev reported damage to buildings and casualties in Cheboksary. Media reports said the target was the VNIIR-Progress plant, which supplies products to the defense industry.

In addition, for the first time, an alert was declared in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, located east of the Ural Mountains.

Airport operations were disrupted in 18 regions of Russia.
