Residents of Minsk reported hearing a drone flying over the city at night, sharing their observations on social media. The sound, described as characteristic of a drone, was heard around 2 a.m. in different districts of the capital.

“Tonight my husband and I heard the sound of a drone flying over our house. This happened before in the summer. In today’s reality, such moments are alarming. Maybe in Russia or border areas it’s common, but here in Belarus, where I live, it is not,” one resident said.

Other users confirmed similar experiences.

“I was waiting for someone to post about this — it felt like it was circling directly above the house and then flew away. I heard such a sound for the first time, but my first thought was that it was a drone,” another witness wrote.

Some noted that a helicopter had been flying over Minsk the previous week.

“Central district — also heard it at night. It sounded like it was approaching the house, then moved away and disappeared,” another user said.

Reports also came from other regions:

“In Orsha we also heard a long-lasting sound. At first I thought I imagined it, but now I see others heard it too. And later there were reports of attacks in the Leningrad region — maybe it flew over us,” one user commented.

“Mahilyou — heard it around 1:40 a.m., it was a bit scary.”

“Mahilyou, Movchanskaha area — around 3:30 a.m., not for long.”

“Hrodna — heard it around 3:30.”

Earlier, Belarusian authorities reported that 520 unmanned aerial vehicles had been neutralised in the country last year, according to Deputy Interior Minister and Internal Troops commander Mikalai Karpiankou.
