Drone Found Crashed in Poland

A crashed drone was discovered in Poland on Thursday. It was found at a lignite mining site in the Wielkopolska region.

“The Military Police unit in Poznan, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the military affairs department of the Poznan-Grunwald District Prosecutor’s Office, is carrying out activities at the site where an unidentified flying object was discovered at a lignite mining area in Golchice, Konin County,” the military gendarmerie said in a statement.

The inspection of the site concluded during the night. According to TVPinfo, the military prosecutor’s office reported that the drone did not carry a warhead.

Citing unofficial information, TVPinfo, Gazeta Wyborcza and several other media outlets reported that the discovered drone resembles the Russian “Gerbera” UAV. It is not known when exactly the drone crashed. It may be another drone that entered Polish airspace in September last year. If so, this drone traveled the farthest from the border — the distance from the discovery site to the Belarusian border exceeds 400 kilometers. At that time, up to two dozen crashed drones were found.
