The Prosecutor General’s Office has sent to court a criminal case against the генеральный director of a major meat processing plant in the Brest region and the head of a private business entity. They are accused of receiving and giving bribes.
According to the prosecution, the illegal payments were made in exchange for supplies of food additives.
“According to the case materials, the head of the meat processing plant, from April 2024 to April 2025, received in several stages during business trips to Minsk and Moscow from the head of a private company, who was interested in his loyalty and favour, more than €8,800”, the statement said.
It is noted that the bribes were handed over in hotel rooms and restaurants. The bribe-giver has fully admitted guilt and expressed remorse. Assets of the accused worth more than 200,000 roubles have been seized.
The recipient of the bribe is in custody, while the bribe-giver has been released under a travel restriction order.
