Broad Money Supply Declines Slightly In April

Broad money supply stood at 104.2 billion rubles as of May 1. In April, it decreased by 606.8 million rubles. Since the beginning of the year, broad money supply has increased by 1.18 billion rubles, according to fresh data from the National Bank of Belarus.

The volume of cash in circulation increased by 441.7 million rubles in April to 15.73 billion rubles. Since the beginning of the year, it has grown by 1.245 billion rubles.

The M1 monetary aggregate, including transferable deposits, increased by 1 billion rubles in April to 36.28 billion rubles.

Money supply in the national definition increased by 1.18 billion rubles to 66.93 billion rubles.

Ruble-denominated money supply grew by 1.23 billion rubles to 69.95 billion rubles.

Foreign currency deposits decreased by $104.3 million in April to $11.92 billion. Household deposits increased by $68.3 million, while corporate deposits fell by $172.7 million.
