BELPOL: Forty-Two Drone Crashes Recorded In Brest Region

BELPOL reports that a recent coordination meeting was held at the Brest Regional Executive Committee to discuss “increased risks, challenges and threats to national security related to the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.” The initiative obtained the meeting’s resolution, which includes data on drone crashes.

According to BELPOL, the document states that since the beginning of the year, 42 incidents involving the fall of unmanned aerial vehicles — including their components — have been registered in Brest Region.

The highest number was recorded in the Stolin District (9), followed by the Pinsk District (6) and the Ivanava District (4). Three incidents were registered in the Baranavichy, Luninyets, Hantsavichy, Malaryta, Byaroza and Ivacevichy districts; two in the Pruzhany District; and one each in the Kobryn, Drahichyn and Brest districts.

In one case, the drone detonated upon impact. In addition, sappers neutralised two drones through controlled explosions.

The Investigative Committee reviewed the incidents. As of 1 December, decisions had been taken to decline the opening of criminal cases in 27 materials under paragraph 1, part 2, article 29 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Belarus (absence of elements of a crime).
