BelGee will put a new model, the Cityray, into production by the end of the year. It is currently being assembled using the large-unit assembly method. The plant’s director, Hienadz Svidzierski, said this.
“There is already a new Cityray model, which we plan to put on the assembly line sometime this year or at the beginning of next year. At the moment, it is being assembled using the large-unit assembly method, but in fact, we are already manufacturing the tooling. Why am I talking about this model? It is already a next-generation model. If the previous platform on which the cars were built was CMA, this is now the new 3.0 platform, which is used for the modern range of passenger cars. I hope this will be implemented in the first quarter,” he said.
According to him, the BelGee X80 hybrid, which is currently on sale, has already been built on the new platform.
“Therefore, we plan to further develop the X80, including increasing localization and production volumes. We are also assembling two electric vehicles, the EX2 and EX5. I should also say that, in my opinion, buyers like these cars. Previously, when I learned that the EX2 was the only model in China to sell 50,000 units in a month, meaning it was the most in demand, I noted this. By the way, the same thing is happening in the Republic of Belarus,” he added.
