In Poland, a 31-year-old Belarusian citizen was detained at a bank while attempting to finalize a mortgage agreement.
According to Warsaw police, the woman sought to obtain a loan and submitted falsified business income and expense records with her application. The reported revenue and income figures were significantly inflated. Police established that the documents on behalf of the 31-year-old woman had been submitted to the bank by a credit intermediary.
When the Belarusian woman and the intermediary arrived at the bank to complete the formalities and sign the mortgage agreement, both were detained. They have been charged with credit fraud committed jointly and by prior conspiracy. The accused face up to five years in prison.
