Vitebsk customs officers thwarted two attempts to bring hashish into Belarus during an operation on a section of the border with Russia. In both cases, the suspects were Belarusian citizens.
According to the State Customs Committee, one man was a passenger in a passenger Skoda. A sniffer dog alerted officers to the presence of prohibited substances in the vehicle. A total of 12.47 grams of hashish was found in a cigarette pack lying on the floor behind the front seat.
The second man was driving an Opel Vectra. Customs officers found 2.3 grams of hashish in the vehicle’s trunk.
Criminal cases have been opened.
