Belarusian enterprises hired more people than they dismissed in February. In January-December, dismissals outnumbered new hires.
In total, nearly 46,900 people were hired in February, while nearly 44,800 were dismissed. The number of people hired exceeded the number dismissed by 2,100, according to Belstat data. The report does not include micro and small enterprises without ведомственная subordination.
The number of new hires fell by 1.1% compared with February 2025, while dismissals increased by 4.5%.
Over the first two months of the year, Belarusian enterprises hired 90,250 people and dismissed 89,370. The balance was in favour of hiring, with 878 more people hired than dismissed.
In February, the balance was in favour of dismissals in agriculture, forestry and fishing (-137), education (-9), and transport and logistics (-260).
The balance was in favour of hiring in industry (+253), healthcare (+35), construction (+868), information and communications (+166), and trade (+461).
Over the first two months, more people were dismissed than hired in industry (-140), healthcare (-449), transport and logistics (-934), and trade (-300).
In January-February, the balance was in favour of hiring in agriculture, forestry and fishing (+40), construction (+945), information and communications (+323), public administration (+128), and education (+179).
