The Ministry of Information has once again expanded its list of “extremist materials.”

Resources belonging to a number of Belarusian media outlets were added to the list. All the decisions were issued by the Leninsky District Court of Hrodna on Aug. 26. The list includes bots and accounts on the messaging platform:

  • Telegram bot “Rэдакцыя Медыязоны Беларусь”,
  • Telegram accounts “Реклама NEXTA 2”, “Редакция NEXTA”, “Салідарнасць – сувязь з рэдакцыяй” (together with the logo).

The Liou District Court took issue with the content of resources belonging to Russian politician Alexei Navalny, who died in custody. As a result, the list includes the Instagram account “navalny” (Alexei Navalny) and Telegram accounts “ТрусЫ Навального”, “Навальный”, “Команда Навального”, “Шрайк”.

The following were also added to the list:

  • the website centrkola.by and its accounts on VK and Instagram,
  • the Telegram channel “Хайсы – Віцебскія Курапаты” and the communities of the same name on VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

It should be recalled that extremism charges are used in Belarus to prosecute opponents of Lukashenka and dissent more broadly.
