The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus has sent to the Homiel Regional Court a criminal case against a Belarusian citizen born in 1975, whom investigators describe as a “staff hitman” for a criminal organization. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the defendant has been charged with the murders of four people in September 1994 and three more on October 23, 1997. The episodes are linked to the activities of the gang and criminal organization led by Marozau and Matyushkou, who, according to previous findings, committed a series of serious and particularly serious crimes in the Homiel region between 1989 and 2004. Members of the group who evaded investigation were placed under separate proceedings, including the current defendant.
