Belarusian customs officers have uncovered a large shipment of undeclared goods worth more than 1 million Belarusian rubles that was imported into the country in violation of customs regulations.

The violation was detected by officers of the Operational Customs Office during special enforcement measures. During an inspection of a truck at the Minsk-TLC-2 customs clearance point, they discovered more than 85,000 units of foreign-made goods, including auto parts, massagers, hyperbaric oxygen chambers and children’s toys.

The goods had been imported into the Eurasian Economic Union without the required customs declaration, the State Customs Committee reported.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against a Kazakh declarant. He faces a fine of up to 30% of the value of the goods that are the subject of the administrative offence.
