The Hrodna regional branch of OSVOD has begun using an underwater robotic drone, the CHASING M2 PRO, which is currently the only device of its kind in Belarus.

The unit can dive to depths of up to 150 meters and operate in conditions of poor visibility thanks to a powerful lighting system. The drone is remotely controlled via a cable up to 200 meters long and is equipped with a manipulator that allows objects to be lifted from the bottom.

According to diver Yahor Shaulyukevich of the Hrodna OSVOD maneuver and search unit, the device can operate at temperatures ranging from minus 10 to plus 45 degrees Celsius, maintain a set depth and remain stable even in strong currents. An additional 12,000-lumen spotlight provides a clear image in murky water.

The Emergencies Ministry notes that the use of an underwater drone increases the safety and efficiency of search-and-rescue operations, makes it possible to inspect deep and hard-to-reach sections of bodies of water, and allows the device to be used to monitor the condition of hydraulic structures.
