Belarus Free Theatre And Katsyaryna Snytsina Win UK Offies 2026 Theatre Award For ‘KS6: Small Forward’

Among the winners of the UK theatre awards Offies 2026 were the Belarus Free Theatre and Katsyaryna Snytsina, who received the award in the “Creation” category for the production “KS6: Small Forward”. This was announced by the production’s director Mikalai Khalezin.

“It is symbolic that this happened on March 30, the day the theatre turned 21,” Khalezin wrote. The awards ceremony took place at Central Hall Westminster.

The Offies Awards support creativity, ambition, and resilience in the independent theatre sector. This year, more than 30 productions were recognized, with over 50 awards presented across ten categories.

It should be recalled that performances of the Belarus Free Theatre production “KS6: Small Forward” featuring Katsyaryna Snytsina took place on the stage of London’s Barbican Theatre (the premiere took place at New York’s La MaMa Theatre in 2024). The production by Mikalai Khalezin and Natallia Kaliada is based on conversations with Olympic athlete Katsyaryna Snytsina, who spoke out against the dictatorship of Aliaksandr Lukashenka in 2020.
