Belarus and Iran Approve Joint Military Cooperation Plan for 2026

During a visit to Belarus by an Iranian military delegation led by Brigadier General Mohammad Ahadi, Chief of the Department of International Relations and Defence Diplomacy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the 3rd meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Iranian Interagency Commission on Military Cooperation was held, the Belarusian Defence Ministry reported.

The sides discussed the state and prospects of developing military cooperation between Belarus and Iran and approved a plan of joint activities for 2026.

Major General Paval Muraveyka, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus, stressed Belarus’s readiness to engage with the Iranian side across all areas:

“I am confident that the activities we include in our joint cooperation plans are only a small foundation on which we can build broader cooperation, engagement and the exchange of views.

I am pleased to note that we already have certain achievements in exchanging delegations of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces, cooperation in the field of special operations forces, engineering support and medical training.

And I am confident that this is not the limit, but only the beginning of our fruitful cooperation.”
