The average nominal accrued monthly wage of public sector employees in Belarus reached 2,402.2 Belarusian rubles before taxes in May. That was up 2.9%, or 66.8 rubles, from April.
Real average wages in the public sector increased by 10.1% in January-May, according to data published by Belstat.
In April, wages in public sector organizations amounted to 80% of the national average wage.
The average monthly wages for public sector employees in April were:
- public administration – 3,832 rubles (-172.2 rubles from the previous month),
- school teachers – 2,995.2 rubles (+187.5 rubles),
- preschool teachers – 2,045.1 rubles (+121.1 rubles),
- university faculty – 3,354.7 rubles (+42.2 rubles),
- doctors – 4,433.4 rubles (+51.1 rubles),
- mid-level medical personnel – 2,419.8 rubles (+70.8 rubles).
