Artsiom Liabedzka, the son of Anatol Liabedzka, has been released from prison. The politician announced the news on Facebook.
Artsiom Liabedzka was detained in March 2023 on an administrative charge. He was later charged in a criminal case with financing extremist activity. In August 2023, he was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony. Liabedzka was found guilty under the article on financing the activities of an extremist formation (Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code). According to the case materials, in 2020 Artsiom, “motivated by ideological hostility,” transferred money to three organisations designated as “extremist formations”. The funds were transferred through Facebook’s payment system. Liabedzka did not admit guilt.
