Agricultural Output Rises 4.3% in January-May

Agricultural production across all categories increased by 4.3% in January-May, reaching 10.5 billion rubles. In agricultural organisations, output rose by 4.6% to 10.3 billion rubles.

Agricultural organisations increased livestock and poultry production by 5.3% to 769,800 tonnes in live weight. Milk production grew by 2.7% to 3.82 million tonnes, while egg production remained at last year’s level of 1.44 billion eggs.

As of June 1, agricultural organisations had 3.8 million head of cattle, including 1.3 million cows. The pig population stood at 2 million head, while poultry numbers reached 52.7 million birds.
