On 8 April, YouTube removed a new CTV channel that the broadcaster had begun developing after the deletion of its previous one.
CTV says the new CTVPLUS channel was removed due to sanctions and stresses that neither the channel nor its management are under sanctions.
As a reminder, on 3 April the YouTube channels of Belarusian state media outlets BelTA, ONT and CTV were removed from the platform. Belteleradiocompany warned that YouTube could be designated as extremist and fully blocked in Belarus. Belarus’ Information Ministry said it reserved the right to take retaliatory measures. The Foreign Ministry threatened a response “using all available means”.
