The Presidium of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has approved amendments fully removing restrictions on the participation of Belarusian athletes, officials, and staff in WDSF competitions. The decision was adopted in line with the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board issued on May 7 to abolish participation conditions introduced in 2022 and 2023 with regard to Belarus.
“As a result, the revised policy fully removes the neutrality regime and the related participation restrictions previously applicable to Belarusian athletes, officials, and accompanying personnel,” the federation said in a press release.
At the same time, restrictions on Russian participants remain fully in force. The IOC recommendation to refrain from organizing and supporting international sporting events also continues to apply to the Russian DanceSport Federation and occupied territories.
