Decree On Rural Trade Signed

Decree No. 277 “On the Development of Trade, Public Catering and Consumer Services in Rural Areas and Small Urban Settlements” was signed today.

According to Lukashenka’s press service, the decree “establishes a system — a set of rules — for the areas of trade, public catering and consumer services.” It takes into account residents’ wishes as well as the economic interests of businesses engaged in trade.

The decree establishes specific tax rules for trade, consumer services and public catering in rural areas. It also sets out rules for the operation of mobile shops, including mandatory routes, the frequency of service, and arrival times and locations. Separate rules for the sale of real estate are also established.

As is customary in Lukashenka’s decrees, personal responsibility is assigned to the heads of regional and district executive committees, as well as to heads of trade businesses, for ensuring adequate trade services for residents of rural areas.
