Aliaksandr Lukashenka on Tuesday received a briefing from his son, National Olympic Committee President Viktar Lukashenka.
“Two issues concerning sport. The domestic situation, especially after the latest meeting. It is not only hockey, of course. And what is happening on our external track? Who still does not recognize us, who has recognized us, and so on,” Aliaksandr Lukashenka said, according to his press service.
It should be recalled that he recently held a meeting formally devoted to the future of the Dynama Minsk hockey club. During the event, however, Lukashenka also reprimanded sports officials responsible for other areas.
Lukashenka asked how the “leadership trio” in sport was functioning, which, according to him, includes Deputy Prime Minister Natallia Petkevich, Sports Minister Siarhei Kavalchuk, and Viktar Lukashenka himself.
“How effective is this trio? What is the situation here?” he asked.
Today’s briefing also covered cooperation with the Gulf countries and, in part, Africa. It concerned Viktar Lukashenka’s personal assignments at the international level.
“Among other things, a matter of state that rests with you is Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and, in part, Africa. How are we working there? How are the projects we discussed in the economy progressing?” he asked.
