A delegation of the Belarusian democratic forces led by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is preparing for a visit to Ukraine. Active consultations are currently under way, including with representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in Ukraine. The issue was discussed today at a meeting of the United Transitional Cabinet in Warsaw.
The meeting also reviewed the recent hearings held at the Coordination Council. The United Transitional Cabinet expressed its readiness to continue such dialogue and stated its openness to cooperation with delegates, factions and commissions of the representative institution of the democratic forces.
A number of social security issues were considered, including pension provision for Belarusians in Poland, legalisation problems, further arrangements for previously released political prisoners, and the level of readiness to receive new groups of former political prisoners.
In addition, preparations for Freedom Day celebrations were discussed. A series of political and cultural events is planned.
Earlier, Tsikhanouskaya said that the visit to Kyiv is planned for late February or March. The dates are being discussed with the Ukrainian side.
