Lukashenka Approves Draft Treaty on Legal Assistance in Civil and Economic Matters With Myanmar

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has approved as a basis for negotiations a draft treaty between Belarus and Myanmar on mutual legal assistance in civil and economic matters. The relevant decree was signed on Aug. 13.

The draft treaty sets out procedures for providing mutual legal assistance. In particular, the document regulates the transmission and service of judicial and other documents, the recognition and enforcement of court decisions, the taking of evidence and other procedural actions.

The Ministry of Justice of Belarus has been tasked with negotiating and signing the draft agreement.

“Implementation of the Treaty will contribute to the development and strengthening of interstate cooperation in the legal sphere and the protection of the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities”, Lukashenka’s press service says.
