Turchyn Orders Review of School Meal Standards

Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn held a working meeting on the organisation of school meals. Previously, significant attention to this issue had been paid by his predecessor as head of government, Raman Halouchanka.

According to the government press service, the meeting resulted in a decision “to improve the principles of organising single daily meals, which will become uniform for schoolchildren studying in both the first and second shifts”.

In addition, meal standards will be defined for three age groups: grades 1–4, 5–7, and 8–11. Currently, standards are set for two age groups: 6–10 years and 11–18 years.

It is also planned to expand the use of semi-finished products in school meals.
